The Engine is the dependable movement block in every ship plan. Active engines add steady acceleration and turning authority, while total ship mass and drag decide how much of that output becomes real speed.

How it works
Engine output affects forward acceleration, top speed, turn speed, and turn acceleration. Multiple engines stack, but each new module also adds mass and drag, so the benefit is strongest when the rest of the hull stays focused.
Best uses
Recover control on heavy shield or weapon builds.
Keep a damaged ship maneuverable after one drive block is lost.
Create a stable foundation before adding burst-only Booster cells.
Placement and hull design
Put at least one Engine behind the core or inside the hull. A single exposed drive block gives opponents an obvious way to reduce both speed and turning at once.
Synergies
Booster for an escape or pursuit burst after the Engine establishes normal handling.
Shield and Repairer for a durable frontline ship that can still reposition.
Failure points and counterplay
At 50% HP or lower, an Engine produces only 70% output; a wreck produces none.
Adding propulsion forever is not free—module mass and drag continue to rise.
